EXPERIENCE

Since its inception Ecological Survey & Management has undertaken numerous projects throughout south east and central Queensland, the Darling Downs, Surat Basin and Bowen Basin. This work has involved ecological assessment of mining, linear infrastructure, coal seam and natural gas projects, water infrastructure and urban residential developments. Prior to Steve establishing Ecological Survey & Management in 2006 and Chris uniting with Ecological Survey & Management in 2010, the two Partners had established themselves as senior level ecologists in consulting organisations and successfully managed specialised, independent ecological consultancies. Their collective experience in ecological consulting includes many projects across Australia in various industries. A brief synopsis of some of the projects undertaken is provided below:

  • Ecological assessments of several coal mining operations including the Hail Creek, Clermont, Curragh, Wilkie Creek, Lake Lindesay and Glen Wilga Coal mines, Trap Gully Exploration and out of pit spoil dump and Meandu Creek Diversion
  • Ecological assessments of several metaliforous mining projects including Lady Annie, Lady Loretta, Ernest Henry and Mount Clarke Copper Projects and Ravenswood Gold Mine
  • Numerous assessments of transport infrastructure projects such as the Port of Brisbane Motorway, Calder Highway (Faraday to Ravenswood) Bruce Highway Ulhmann to Boundary Road, Second River Crossing Echuca, Boyne Valley Infrastructure Relocation Study, Pyalong Bypass, Geelong Bypass and Robina to Tugun rail extension
  • Ecological assessment of many infrastructure projects such as Tasmanian Natural Gas Project, Aldoga High Voltage Transmission Line, Molendinar to Greenbank High Voltage Transmission Line, Pioneer Valley to Nebo High Voltage Transmission Line and Townsville Power Station
  • Targeted bat and fauna assessments for numerous wind farms across south east Australia such as Niranda South Wind Farm, Bald Hills Wind Farm, Yaloak Wind Farm and Robbins Island Wind Farm
  • Natural resource management projects such as assessment of floodplain wetland health along the Murray River between Wentworth and Renmark, Wetland Management Plan for the Glenelg Hopkins CMA, Restoration strategies for Lake Tutchewop, RAMSAR assessment of Point Henry wetlands and the early stages of a habitat network strategy for the Glenelg Hopkins CMA
